Andrew at AB Pest Solutions is enrolled on the BASIS PROMPT Professional Pest Control Register.
Pests that endanger our health, contaminate our food and environment and damage our property must be controlled. However, it is essential that their control is carried out responsibly by people who are properly trained and competent. The BASIS PROMPT Pest Controllers register is an industry initiative that provides that independent proof that you need that a pest controller has received the proper training and continues to update their expertise through Continuing Professional Development (CPD). As registration has to be renewed each year, members of the register will always be aware of the most up-to-date techniques, products and legal obligations.
The BASIS PROMPT professional register is supported and recognised by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH), the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS), the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH), the British Pest Control Association (BPCA), the National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA), the UK Pest Controllers Organisation (UKPCO) and the Sector Skills Council.
I follow the Campaign for Responsibile Rodenticide Use Code of Conduct for wildlife protection.
The rodenticide industry recognises the need to ensure that rodenticides are used correctly and in ways that minimise the exposure of wildlife and other non-target animals. CRRU was established to promote responsible use of rodenticides among all user groups, including professional pest controllers, farmers and gamekeepers.

Andrew has acheived the Level 2 National Pest Technician qualification awarded by RSPH.
The Level 2 National Pest Technician qualification is designed to provide an understanding of public health pests and their management. It fulfils the legal requirement relating to the training of pest control technicians as set out in the Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986.
The qualification was originally developed by RSPH to provide the underpinning knowledge required for the NVQ in Pest Control. It was restructured in 2000 to meet the requirements of qualifications accredited by the then Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA), and redeveloped in 2004 in partnership with the British Pest Control Association.
The qualification is overseen by an advisory panel composed of staff from pest control companies, training organisations, servicing companies and trade associations to ensure that the objectives and content of the qualification remain appropriate for people wishing to enter the industry as pest control operatives.
